Creating & Assigning Blog Categories
NOTE: This page has separate instructions for agents using a Katana theme (our newest theme platform) and our older themes (such as Shinobi, Element, Classic, etc.).
Please choose which theme your website is using to view appropriate instructions:
- I'm using Katana!
- I'm using an older theme (such as Shinobi, Element, Classic, etc.) Note: we recommend that you upgrade your website to Katana for free.
By default, agents that signed up after December 2017 are all using a Katana theme. If you're not sure what theme your website is using you can always contact us at support@realtyninja.com.

- Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
- Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
- Click NEWS (or BLOG) in your navigation menu
- Click into the blog post you wish to categorize (by clicking on its post title)
- Click EDIT THIS POST
- Click OPTIONS > Change Category

Choose a category from the list by clicking the radio button next to it
- Optional: Change a category name by clicking on the COG icon next to it
- Optional: Add a new category by typing in its name under "Add new category" > Add category
- Click SAVE CHANGES
Restricting the "Recent Blog Post Showcase" or "Blog" widgets to only show posts from a certain category
- Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
- Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
- Access the PAGE LAYOUT & WIDGETS lightbox (either by going to the page and clicking the button at the top, or by going through the "manage pages" lightbox and clicking the icon next to the page you wish to edit
- Click the "Widget Options" icon next to the "Recent Blog Post Showcase" or "Blog" widget (you can drag the widget in from the left if you haven't added it to your page already)
- Choose the category you wish to only show posts from via the "Restrict To Category" dropdown
- Click APPLY CHANGES

Creating/Editing/Deleting A Blog Category
- Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
- Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
- Click Blog in your navigation menu
- Click EDIT THIS PAGE
- Click the "Gear" icon beside the blog categories on the right
- In the Blog Category Options window, you can add a new category and/or edit/delete existing categories
- Click IM DONE when you're finished
Assigning A Blog Entry To A Category
- Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
- Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
- Click Blog in your navigation menu
- If you're adding a new blog entry: Click NEW BLOG ENTRY
- If you're editing an existing blog entry: Click on the title of your blog entry, then click EDIT THIS PAGE
- Select the appropriate blog category on the right by clicking on its radio button
- When you're done with the blog entry, click SAVE THIS PAGE (and publish if you haven't already done so)
