Changing the Default MLS Search Result Order
MLS search results are listed in the order that they come onto the market, so the newest listings are shown first. RealtyNinja does this to optimize your website's SEO by constantly showing new content on the first page, which tells Google that you're providing fresh content consistently.
NOTE: This page has separate instructions for agents using a Katana theme (our newest theme platform) and our older themes (such as Shinobi, Element, Classic, etc.).
Please choose which theme your website is using to view appropriate instructions:
- I'm using Katana!
- I'm using an older theme (such as Shinobi, Element, Classic, etc.) Note: We recommend that you upgrade your website to Katana for free.
By default, agents that signed up after December 2017 are all using a Katana theme. If you're not sure what theme your website is using you can always contact us at support@realtyninja.com.
If you're using our latest platform, Katana follow these instructions to change the default MLS search result sort order:
1. Log into your site (www.YOURWEBSITE.com /login)
2. Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
3. Navigate to the page you wish to change (one with an MLS search or listing widget on it)
4. click the PAGE LAYOUT AND WIDGETS ICON
5. click the WIDGET OPTIONS ICON ⚙️ on the widget you wish to change the order of (mls search, listings, etc.)
6. Change the order via the drop-down provided
7. SAVE CHANGES
Instructions for older theme users and Listings-Only (IDX) accounts
1. Log into your website (www.YOURWEBSITE.com/login)
2. Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
3. Click MANAGE PAGES
4. Click Customized MLS Search Options icon next to the page you wish to edit (its the mls reciprocity small icon)
5. Choose the order you want via the dropdown at the bottom of the window
6. Save your changes
