Blogging On Your Website

NOTE: This page has separate instructions for agents using a Katana theme (our newest theme platform) and our older themes (such as Shinobi, Element, Classic, etc.). 

Please choose which theme your website is using to view appropriate instructions:

By default, agents that signed up after December 2017 are all using a Katana theme. If you're not sure what theme your website is using you can always contact us at support@realtyninja.com.

Instructions for Katana theme users:

By default, the blog is enabled on your website and it's called "NEWS" in your navigation menu. Here is a video demonstration of how to blog on your website:


Written instructions:

  1. Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
  2. Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
  3. Click NEWS (or BLOG) in your navigation menu
  4. Click NEW BLOG POST
  5. Type in the title of your blog post in the top editable region of your post
  6. Add your blog content (text, images, video, etc.) in the content area just below the title
  7. Optional: Set a blog category by clicking OPTIONS > CHANGE CATEGORY, choose or add the category, then save
  8. click SAVE THIS PAGE, it will ask you if you want to publish the blog post, click YES if you're ready for the post to go live

How to view your unpublished blog posts:

  1. Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
  2. Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
  3. Click NEWS (or BLOG) in your navigation menu
  4. On the right side of the manage bar, you'll see a dropdown with 2 options in it: "Show Published Posts" and "Show Unpublished Posts" switch between these two to see the posts that are published/unpublished

  5. If you want to publish an unpublished post, click into the post (by clicking on its title) then you'll see a new button called PUBLISH POST, click that to publish it

How to add a blog to your website, if its missing one:

Note: The blog is added by default on all websites.

  1. Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
  2. Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
  3. Click MANAGE PAGES
  4. Click CREATE NEW PAGE
  5. Type in a page name, for example "News" and select the normal page type, then click CREATE PAGE
  6. Position the page in your navigation menu by dragging it in the list
  7. Click the PAGE LAYOUT AND WIDGETS icon next to your new page
  8. Drag in the "Blog" widget from the left pane (under "available widgets") to the right pane, and position it where you want it to appear
  9. Save

Enabling Your Blog

You can enable your blog via the following steps. There's also a demonstration video at the bottom of this page.

  1. Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
  2. Click SETTINGS
  3. Click BLOG SETTINGS
  4. Check the ACTIVATE BLOG option 
  5. Optional: Choose any additional blog settings via the options on the page
  6. Click APPLY CHANGES

Writing A Blog Entry

  1. Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
  2. Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
  3. Click Blog (in your navigation menu)
  4. Click NEW BLOG ENTRY
  5. Fill in a blog entry title (replace the default title)
  6. Fill in your content using the website editor, as you would when normally adding content to a page
  7. Click SAVE THIS PAGE
  8. Click YES when asked if you'd like to publish your blog entry (Alternatively, click NO if you wish to work on the entry and publish it later)

Editing & Publishing An Unpublished Blog Entry

When you've written a blog entry and saved it, but haven't published it yet, you can access it via the steps below:

  • Login to your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
  • Click EDIT MY WEBSITE
  • Click Blog in your navigation menu
  • Click EDIT THIS PAGE
  • You will then see a list of all blog entries, unpublished ones will have a "turned off" lightbulb icon next to them. 
  • Simply click the lightbulb once to turn it "on" and publish the entry

Note: Clicking the lightbulb once again will turn it off and unpublish the entry.
